While not created specifically for the RPM Challenge 2012 project, this arrangement of my 1999 chamber work, Pieces of Eight, was made specifically for Shana Norton and first sent to her during the RPM period.
Pieces of Eight consists of eight movements, each of which is 10 seconds or less in duration. The impression is as of 'windows' onto hypothetical larger works. It was written for a call for scores from the French group Ensemble Decadanse for their 2000 Miniatures for the Year 2000 project and the restricted duration of the movements was dictated by the requirements of the call. It exists in many arrangements, for various chamber ensembles, piano, string quartet - and now pedal harp. It has been performed in assorted forms in France, Australia and the UK.
The score of Pieces of Eight (for pedal harp) is included in the whole-album download package.
